How To Tell If You Have A Problem With Your Hydraulic Fluid

By C Krueger  –  Published 10/20/2008
The quality of your hydraulic fluid is key to the health of your hydraulic system.  Here are several common indicators that you have a problem with your hydraulic fluid.
  1. Milky looking fluid
  2. A burnt smelling fluid (a sign of your system overheating)
  3. Fluid is foaming
  4. Aerated fluid (This causes banging noise as the air compresses and decompresses)
Ultimately you will need an oil sample taken from your reservoir and tested for quality.  Contact Western Integrated Technologies for an oil sample and more information about care for your hydraulic fluid.
