The Chelsea 489 PTO is a rugged and efficient power take-off unit for manual transmissions, designed to minimize installation time, reduce leak paths, and deliver reliable performance in demanding vocational applications.

Featuring a one-piece cast iron housing, the Chelsea 489 PTO mounts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for extra adapters or seals. Despite its compact and simplified design, it provides the same 250 lb-ft torque capacity as the proven Chelsea 442 Series.

Built for durability, the Chelsea 489 PTO utilizes tapered roller bearings—not needle bearings—for greater load-bearing strength and longer service life.

With 27 output options, including Chelsea’s signature 360° rotatable flange and a greaseable shaft to reduce spline fretting and corrosion, the Chelsea 489 PTO offers unmatched installation flexibility and reliability. It also provides 11 internal speed ratios and multiple shift configurations to meet diverse operational needs.

Compatible with most manual transmissions, including Eaton Endurant, Mack, Tremec, and others, the Chelsea 489 PTO combines Parker Chelsea’s legendary engineering with ease of installation and long-term performance—making it an ideal solution for today’s medium- and heavy-duty truck applications.
