The Chelsea 897 Series PTO is a constant mesh power take-off designed for Allison 3000 and 4000 transmissions, offering exceptional clearance and the highest torque rating in its class—up to 670 lb-ft.
Engineered for a precise fit, the Chelsea 897 Series PTO installs neatly between the transmission and the truck’s frame rail, positioning the pump output to the rear of the transmission for ample clearance and easy access. It mounts like a standard side-mounted PTO but includes an additional rear support bracket for enhanced stability and durability.
Unlike multi-piece designs, the 897 Series PTO is a single integrated unit featuring a one-piece main shaft, eliminating the input spline connection between the PTO and extension. The pump interface, located at the rear of the transmission, allows the gear housing to fit tightly against the transmission for improved under-truck clearance.
The output section features Wet Spline Technology, which significantly extends the life of both the PTO and pump shafts in high-demand conditions.
Available for transmissions with or without a cooler or retarder, the Chelsea 897 Series PTO is the ideal solution for aerial trucks, fire and rescue vehicles, snow and ice equipment, and any other high-torque application where space efficiency and durability are critical.
