Transfer Flow’s story began in 1983 in the beautiful and historic town of Chico, California. Former General Motors Engineer Bill Gaines founded the company as an OEM fuel system supplier for the motorhome and travel trailer industry. Transfer Flow quickly expanded into the mobility, work truck, and mainstream automotive industries. By 1994, the company relocated to a 35,000 square foot manufacturing facility as demand continued to grow.
Six years later, a 20,000 square foot building was built on an adjacent three acre parcel, and in 2008, a 15,000 square foot warehouse was also added. Today, Transfer Flow continues to invest in new technology and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, while employing a dedicated and skilled team of more than 100 people from across Northern California.

Haskel has a long and storied history as the world leader in the design and manufacture of the industry’s most reliable high-pressure equipment and technology. In 1954 Haskel was a pioneer in the development of the first dry running hydraulically driven gas booster, which did not require lubrication for the compressor, used with nitrogen and helium to pressure as high as 10,000 psi. In 1961 it launched a range of metal seals able to withstand the extreme temperatures of aircraft engines. Another major development was the introduction of the air driven gas booster in 1963. This product line was supplemented with the introduction of air-driven liquid pumps, leading to the publication of the first liquid pump catalog in 1963. PT History
In 1951, R.C. Parrish founded a modest machining and drilling operation and named it Central Machine & Tool Company (CMT). He formed the company as a jobbing machine shop, but later recognized that manufacturing a set product line would be the key to building a strong reputation, and ensuring the company's long-term success. At that point he started producing the cam and groove style hose couplings.
The Company began manufacturing quick connect/disconnect industrial hose fittings in 1955, and began marketing them worldwide as products of PT Coupling Company, in 1960. PT has long been known as a leader in the production of quick connect/disconnect fittings for the hose industry.
During the early 1960's, CMT expanded and began to supply suspension parts, drive components, and transmission gears for large off-road trucks.
In the late 1960's, a foundry for pouring ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including nodular iron, was added.
In 1984, Oklahoma Investment Casting Company (OICC) was acquired in Blackwell, OK, enabling us to produce complex castings with special heat treating and machining requirements.
In 1990, Specialty Plastics Company was added to the team as a plastic injection molding facility.
PUNCH-LOK® Company was purchased in Chicago, IL and moved to Enid in 1992. PUNCH-LOK® manufactures and distributes various hose clamps, fittings, banding and related installation tools.
In June 2000, ProGrip™ Coupling Company was purchased in Gardenia, CA as a manufacturing facility of crimp sleeves and ferrules for hose fittings and related products. Operations were moved to Enid in 2005 and merged with CMT. The ProGrip™ product line is distributed by PT Coupling.

In 1940, the corporate name was changed to “Velvac” in response to the popularity of the company’s Velvet Vacuum Brakes brand. In the mid 1950’s, Velvac began producing a range of “west coast” mirror heads for North American truck manufacturers, becoming an OEM supplier of mirrors to GM in 1956. This started Velvac’s growth and eventual leadership in supplying vision systems to the North American commercial vehicle market. Our product line has expanded over the years and now includes over 4,500 popular vehicle components.
As Velvac has grown over its 85 year history, the company’s primary manufacturing facilities have moved and been expanded five times. Today, the company is headquartered in New Berlin, WI, a western suburb of Milwaukee, and its primary manufacturing facility is located in Reynosa, Mexico, directly across the Mexico/U.S. border from McAllen, TX. Remote warehouse locations in California, Texas and Ontario ensure fast delivery of products anywhere in North America.

In order to respond to the increasingly important role of electronics, software and vehicle connectivity emerging vision system technology, Velvac acquired the key assets and operations of Qualnetics, Inc. in Bellingham, WA in 2014, creating a new subsidiary company named Road-iQ to support the technology transformation occurring in the field of vision systems.
In April 2017, The Eastern Company acquired Velvac. The company operates as an independent subsidiary of Eastern.

Throughout its history, Velvac’s ownership has also been actively involved in the executive management of the company. However, Velvac has never been a traditional “family owned” business, as ownership has been sold from one group of executive managers to another. Jeff Porter, the 5th CEO in Velvac’s 85 year history, led the acquisition of the company from its former ownership group in 2005, and since then has recommitted the company to the historic values that made it successful, while building a world class team to take the company into the future.
Velvac is a IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 certified multinational company. Our logistics are C-TPAT certified and secure and our manufacturing facilities have been recognized for their record of safety and environmental safeguards (STPS Level 3).
