The Chelsea 281L Series PTO is Chelsea’s latest innovation for Allison 3000 and 4000 series transmissions. Purpose-built to accommodate larger hydraulic pumps, the Chelsea 281L Series PTO offers increased mounting clearance and optimized output for medium-duty vocational applications.
Leveraging the proven reliability of the 281 Series, the new Chelsea 281L PTO integrates extended shaft capabilities inspired by the heavy-duty 871L. While the 871L is designed for maximum torque in severe-duty environments, the Chelsea 281L Series PTO delivers a more practical, efficient, and cost-effective solution where full heavy-duty performance is not required.
This latest addition to the Parker Chelsea product line strategically bridges the gap between medium- and heavy-duty PTO offerings. It enhances the company’s coverage of Allison transmission applications across a wide range of industries—including refuse collection, light-duty dump operations, and utility service fleets.
Orders for the new PTO will open on June 16, 2025, with production scheduled to begin in late August 2025. Standard lead time is six weeks, according to the Parker Chelsea Product Division.
